Tips, Methods and Remedies for Hair Growth

My Natural Hair Growth Journey

Where It All Started

Over the years, I have tried to grow my hair back numerous times, but there were many setbacks and hair loss horror stories along the way. I decided to share my successful hair growth journey with you, to encourage you and inspire you. I also wanted to remind you that even though this may not be a fast or easy process, it is doable with prayer, good, natural hair products, a systematic and consistent hair regimen and with patience. Take a look at how my hair grew long, strong, fast and healthy over the course of 1 year.

Shaved Bald I was so frustrated with my hair loss and alopecia situation that I decided that I wanted to shave off all of my hair and go bald. This was not the first time I had shaved my hair off.  When I had shaved my hair off previously, my hair wasn’t growing at the rate or as healthy as I would have wanted it to.  The difference between this shave and the previous shaves is that I told myself, no matter what happened, I was not going to shave my hair off, until I had grown my hair for at least 3 years. The reason I decided this is that around the 1 and a half year mark, of growing my hair, my hair would show signs of falling out or breaking off.  I would keep letting my hair grow for another 6 months and once I got to the 2 year mark, I would get frustrated and start all over.  I did this a few times.  I decided that I did not want this to be the trend anymore.  I concluded, if I grew my hair for 3 years and after the 3 year mark I didn’t like the way my hair grew in, I would shave my hair off again, but I would keep it in a low style and not try to grow my hair back ever again. So that is what I did.    ————————————————————————————————————————————————

I have been growing my hair for 1 whole month and my hair is growing back! I am so pleased to little waves in my hair and a few curls at the sides.  The bald spot from the alopecia is filling in nicely. I am very proud to have made it 1 month and to be Alopecia Free! 1 Month Natural   ————————————————————————————————————————————————

I have been growing my hair for 3 months and I am still Alopecia Free! There are no signs that my hair is falling out.  In a matter of fact, my hair has just continued to get thicker this month.  I did a quick measurement and my hair seems to be 1 inch all around at this point. So in 3 months I grew 1 inch of hair! I am so excited!!   3 Months Natural ————————————————————————————————————————————————

This was a weird month for me.  I have noticed that on the left, back side of my hair where the alopecia was, my hair seems to be thinner than the rest of my hair.  I am kind of confused because, up until this point my hair has been growing and getting thicker and I thought it was growing evenly, but I seem to have been mistaken.   5 Months Natural ————————————————————————————————————————————————

Great News! My hair is starting to thicken back up and it is no longer thinning.  I am so relieved that my hair tuned around.  I was starting to fear that the alopecia had indeed returned and that I was going to have more bald patches, but this was not the case.  I am still Alopecia Free and loving it!  I measured my hair and all around it has grown about 2.5 inches in 6 months!! 6 Months Natural ————————————————————————————————————————————————

I am 7 months natural and my hair has continued to grow and thicken.  I have noticed in these past few months I have changed my diet and have started drinking more water and my hair has continued to grow and thrive. I thought my hair loss was due to Candida Overgrowth, but this is not the case.  I know that this is not the case because I cured myself of Candida Overgrowth and it seemed like my hair was doing well, but I ended up getting Candida Overgrowth again and I was more sick then I have ever been in my life, but my hair was still growing and flourishing.  This proves that my Natural Shea Butter Mixture as well as a proper regimen is why my hair is continuing to grow and flourish.  Those are the only two things that have stayed the same.

It has been 8 month that I have been growing my hair for and it is doing great! I have a Tiny Afro now! I am very excited for all of the new growth.  At this point into my journey I was still convinced that the Candida Overgrowth condition I was struggling with had something to do with my hair loss, but like I stated above (in month 7) I did have a reoccurrence of Candida Overgrowth and my hair still did not fall out. My hair fell out before I had Candida Overgrowth and it grew even when it came back (after I had cured it).  So this is definitely Alopecia, but I am still Alopecia Free!

Happy New Years!  I am thrilled that is a new year and that my hair has had amazing growth for the past 9 months.  My hair is getting so thick that it is very hard for me to comb/pick out and show you a more accurate view of how long and thick it is getting.  I am enjoying my New Years and I hope that this year 2014 my hair continues to grow and the alopecia stays away. Oh, yes, I am still Alopecia Free and there are no bald spots. 9 Months Natural ————————————————————————————————————————————————

The month of “love” and I am absolutely in “love” with my hair growth at 10 months.  It is so full and thick, but most importantly, it is healthy! My hair doesn’t seem to fall out anymore when I run my fingers through it as much as it use to. I seem to be keeping my hair in my head and I am not referring to the alopecia. My hair was very brittle, back in month 5, but I feel an obvious change in the texture and the health of my hair.  This is a great month to be in “love” with being Alopecia Free!   10 Months Natural ————————————————————————————————————————————————

 March 1, 2014

It was a stressful month last month and here in month 11, I have noticed some of my hair thinning, but it’s not very noticeable. To be honest with you, it could all be in my head.  At one point I thought stress was causing the hair loss, so I guess I almost “expected” my hair to fall back out and the alopecia to return, but it didn’t. The rest of my hair is growing and it is now starting to cover up the section that had the alopecia and that had the thinning and balding. I am very grateful, that even though I encountered some stress in my life, that my hair was not affected and that I am still Alopecia Free! 11 Months Natural ————————————————————————————————————————————————

 April 1, 2014

Can you believe I have made it to 1 year already?! I have grown my hair for 1 year and my hair looks and feels amazing! My hair is soft, shiny and it is getting pretty long. I am so happy that even though there were some ups and downs this year, that my hair still thrived and flourished and that I am still Alopecia Free! I did a length check and my hair has grown 5 inches all the way around. This is such a testimony because the average person grows about 6 inches a year and for me, someone who had alopecia and hair loss issues, my hair has grown 5 inches, which is very close to the average hair growth length.  I thought my hair would have grown slower because of all of the hair growth issues, but I was wrong.  I am still Alopecia Free and loving it! 1 Year Natural! ————————————————————————————————————————————————
